Glitter Market 2014

I am down to vending once a year at our local paper store, Paper Crown.

I have knits, because I knit...

Also I make journals because it is one of the most deeply fulfilling things I have ever done.

If you are in Oklahoma City and feel so inclined, come by Saturday, 22 November.

I Knit

I knit.

I knit during football.

I knit in the car.
I knit all winter.

I start each fall.
I knit and knit and knit some more.

I knit instead of curling up in a ball on the floor.

Wits Please Grow Sharper

Here is the development of a page.
I just want to draw bubble letters and color.
Also make journals and knit.
I feel a hibernation coming on...

Heart Session No. 2

Be like the bird that, passing on her flight awhile on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings, knowing that she hath wings.

Mimosa Neck Cuff for Haiti

This Mimosa Neck Cuff is available on Haiti by Hand the Etsy site by Rebecca Sower where proceeds from all items go to the relief effort in Haiti so near and dear to Ms. Sower. Her efforts go to training Haitians to make and create, produce and sell their own art.

Sweetest Peek

I will be attending the workshops and estro-glitter-fest that is Silver Bella in November. My "friend" that talked me into going also encouraged me to do a swap. There were many swaps to choose from from making charms, aprons, mittens, collage, ornaments and so on. Also they fill up like in minutes. All new to me.

I did join a swap called The Sweetest Thing Recipe Swap hosted by Shea. I did 2 sets of recipe pages. I don't scrapbook. I do, however, sew. So I did this and here is a peek.

Don't tell my "friend" but I actually enjoyed it.

Also, I named this beaded leaf neck cover "speckled leaf" which was influenced by comments to the last post. I couldn't see the nest for the leaf. Anyway, thanks for helping with that!

Whatsits Name?

This never happens. My dolls and knits name themselves as I am making or at least photographing them. But this one eludes me. What do you think?

That blue...

That blue. I grew up surrounded by it.
Here is a charming photo which shows off a blue crushed velvet chair in our living room. That groovy make-up was done by my older sister. I am wearing an equally tasteful orange terry-cloth zippered jumper. Focus on the blue chair please.
My little Hallmark Charmers cards. I thought she was so much prettier than Holly Hobby...

There is my mother in the 1970s with her Dorothy Hammil wedge, blue suit in a sensible wash and wear polyester sitting on the blue couch. Those are her lashes. Thank you genetics.

I have many more nostalgic blue photos but they involve Easter dresses and far too much hair.

Having been surrounded by blue nogahyde and velvet, I swore I would never have that much blue in my life. Uhm, yeah, well, you know how that worked out. I cannot get enough of that blue.

I have been buying it.

I have been knitting with it.

I have been painting with it.

I have been sewing with it.

I have been decorating with it.

I have been wearing it.

And, yes, I am sleeping with it.
